Book Review: I found "Gardening with Guineas" to be entertaining, yet extremely informative.  The author gives complete instructions in plain language to help anyone, from novice to experienced breeder, to raise Guinea Fowl easily and healthy. This is a book I will return to often as I try my hand at "Gardening with Guineas" for the first time, in June of this year.  It won't be long before it's dog-eared and worn, I'm sure!

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn to raise these beautiful birds, or who just enjoys learning.

Book Review:  I read this book because we just bought ten acres and have wanted guineas for a very long time.  So, over the years I have done some research on them and have not found anything like this book.  It covered most all my questions including the most important one- How to keep these guys around.  We have ordered our keets and will not receive them untill the end of July.  So, we are waiting and getting more and more excited..  I hope everyone who reads this book finds it as usefull I did.  It was so interesting that I read all of it in one day.  Thank you so much Jeannette, and your family for giving you the time to write this book.

Book Review:  What a wonderful, entertaining and informative book!   You are so right about their habits, responses, etc.  I've been involved with guineas for the past five years and purchased your book during the first year.  I re-read it at least once a year and always have a chuckle or two while reading because it sounds just like my crew!

You will love to hear that my guineas have totally taken over my 15-acre farm and as a group all fourteen of them will chase dogs, foxes, etc. out that don't belong.  I have seen them run stray dogs into a corner of the electric fence while berating the dog for ever coming on to their property! Yet, they calmly follow my horses while they graze eating the bugs the horses stir up.  I guess the horses appreciate the guineas' efforts as the horses also seem to watch out for the guineas, becoming aggressive if a predator approaches!

You're right!  Guineas rule!

Book Review:  I purchased this book at the local feed store and live in the same small town as Jeanette!  My guineas are 3 months old, and I refer to th book often.  Easy to read and enjoyable.  I just put my guineas in with my one lone chicken (I have 3 roosters in a close pen).  The neighbor dogs got my other chickens when I decided to let them be free range. I am using Jeanettes advice, and things are working out much easier since I got them out of the nursery and into the chicken coop.  They still need to learn to follow Gladys the chicken in at night.  I have to herd them in!  Thanks Jeanette and maybe we will meet someday!

Book Review:  I enjoyed the book very much. A lot of the things I had read before but a lot of it was new and informative. I enjoy guineas and find them most enjoyable garden companions although I have had some sad experiences with them. I do hope to have better luck with the keets I have now.

Book Review:  I became interested in guineas when I read that they thrived on insects.  Since we live in the country in South Florida, there are lots and lots of fleas, ticks, mosquitos, and every other bug you can think of!  Before, we started out with about 30 and lost all but 6.  Now, thanks to this book I kept trying!  This morning my very first keet hatched!  What a thrill!

Book Review: I purchased your book about two weeks ago and I love it! I bought 5 guineas last year, all pearl, I lost all but one female to owls. She, the one survivor, we now call Mrs. Birdie. I then bought 5 adult white guineas this year. I lost all but one male to dogs and owls. We call him Fred. Before loosing the other white males, Fred and another male bird gave me the pleasure of watching what your book calls "the dance". At the time I had no idea what was going on. Thanks to your book now I do. Upon loosing the other white males, Fred won Mrs. Birdie's heart and they are always together. Thank you for all the great information, I am now hatching my own baby guineas and can't wait to train them as pets.

Book Review: Just wanted to say how pleased I was once I read your book.  I'm new to the guinea
world and was unable to find any info at our local library or bookstore on raising them.  I stumbled
upon your website and anxiously ordered your book.  I've yet to order my keets but, I feel
confident doing so now that I've read your book.  Thanks for writing this much needed book! Not
only does it provide great information, I think it will save the lives of many lovely guineas. This
book is not one that you read and then sell at a yard sale, it's good enough to become a permanent
fixture on my bookcase.            Keep the great info coming-----thanks!   Lisa

Book Review:  This book is wonderful. I enjoyed every minute of it and can't wait to get started with my own family of  Guineas on our 5 acres.  Am a little concerned over the noise for I have never heard one. But I figure they can't be any worst than Peacocks who scream. I have my husband talked into letting me do the same set up and Jeannette has in her book with her henhouse. As I have had chickens before in a neighborhood, having five acres to deal with now and all the things that I want to grow or raise these birds are perfect.  I think for now I will start with only Guineas.   Thanks for writing this book.

Book Review:   I enjoyed your book very much. I feel like it will get me off to a good start raising my guineas I purchased in the spring. I wish someone would write a book like it on raising domestic ducks, as I am trying to raise both along side of each other.

Book Review:   I found this book to be a wealth of knowledge in just a few short pages.  I knew almost nothing about raising Guinea Fowl before purchasing this book, "Gardening With Guineas" - I had bought 3 keets and then the book...thankgoodness for the book, heaven knows what would have happened to these poor birds without this wonderful information. I have purchased 3 more younger keets since reading it, and I KNOW, from talking to others, that I have more knowledge of Guinea fowl from this book than people who have been raising them for years!  I feel ALMOST like an expert now and my birds are happy and healthy.  This book is a must for any potential owner of Guinea fowl who really CARE about the birds.  Thank you for this fantastic book!

Book Review:   An unbelieveably wonderful resource for people gardening w/guineas!! I've been gardening w/guineas w/o this book for 5 years, and I wish I had the book 5 yrs ago!  One thing, it's hard to believe you can lose a guinea so fast, keet or adult, and this book helps you keep them alive for a long time.  Two, I felt kind of "alone" in the guinea world because neighbors, customers, and employees tease me for having them, w/all the noise they make, etc. and their roaming tendency. The book validates all our work to keep the guineas, and it's so well-written and fun to read. We have no ticks, so it's definitely worth the effort!

Short Comment = A Library Of Information!

Book Review:    This was the best book!  When I went searching here in Virginia for information on Guineas-there was not one place-from the library to the bookstores that even had any idea as to what  a Guinea Hen was, much less any information on them!  I happened to stumble across it while searching the net one evening.  There are several folks around here I have recommended this book to or have helped them out with their keets due to the information on rasing keets in this book-(chapter 4).  It is simply-WONDERFUL!  Thanks Frit for the information at the right time!  Oh and thank you from my Guineas too!  I have had the previlage of raising 45 keets last year and more are expected this year.

Debbie-Guineas Rule!! :-D
