You are correct that the pearl guineafowl is the strongest.

Ask a young mother who has in infant about this liquid that we call Pedialyte. You can also try putting this word into goggle in Denmark and see what it comes up with.

Good Luck !

Oh, I'm not sure what that is.
I have a friend how seems to know all there is to know about poultry, except GF ;)..I'll ask her.. maybe she knows.

It's funny because out of my 15 keets, 11 are Pearl Grey, 1 is white and 3 is Lavender.
All of the Pearl Grey came first, then the others...and it seems like the lighter colored birds are a bit weaker, not as quickly up and about and so on..
But maybe it's just a coincident??

But you sure get attached to such a little Keet.
I really hope I can help it!

Welcome. Keep her warm and I would give her by mouth a liquid we have here for infants. It has vitamins and electrolytes called Pedialyte. Just dip her head/beak into this undiluted liquid every hour or so for the day. Don't stay up all night. 24/7 is not necessary.
Time will tell.

Keets do have problems...more so than baby chickens. But as adults, guineafowl are much healthier.

Good Luck !!

Hi all...
New to this forum and not a least as a Guinea mom
I'm loving both!! (tu)

I would like to start telling that my name is Susanne and I'm from Denmark and I hope you can understand my English .
If not, please just ask me...I won't mind!

I'm hatching my first keets right now.
20 eggs in the incubator and at this point 15 keet.

One of the keets was lying on its side kicking with its leg and didn't seem to be able to get up.
I read #6 and made her ( I can tell ;) ) an ortho box.
I have been up all night ( it's 7.42 AM here ) checking up on her.
Twice she had fallen on her back in the ortho box, but the last couple of hours she was fine.
My husband took her out of the box when he got up and when I checked her 1 hour later, she is walking fine but she has her head bowed, so that when she walks, she trips over from the weight of the head.

Do you think she is going to be fine when she has been in there for a little longer or is there something I can do for her??

I took her up i my hand...resting her head on my finger and rubbing her neck carefully. She is the cutest little thing and I really don't hope it's because something I did with the ortho box that did this to her.

Can anybody help?
