I agree with Shelby. He has a flock mentality and sees his friends on the vehicles.

Put up several mirrors near his house and around the yard and he will go to them. I get 'door' mirrors at WalMart and tack them to the bottom of trees. They work very well.

Good Luck and so glad you rescued this guy.

Perhaps a mirror. He may see his image in your shiny vehicles thinking he has a buddy.

Guinea's like companionship of other guinea's. Safety in numbers I suppose. Grrr my tree sitters will hang around the coop in the morning until I release the good birds to join them roaming.

The tree sitters happened because Jenny took soooo long with her clutch. I did have them all in Sunday night, enticed them with mellons. I let them out too soon as they are back in the tree again tonight. Fortunately th is year no predators YET.;)

We have a guinea cock that was dropped of at our home almost 2 yrs ago. I finally got him to get into his little house I made for him. I have a light that comes on at dusk and runs for 4 hours. Enough time for him to get inside.
Here is my biggest problem.
He insists on getting on our vehicles. This bird was fully grown when he arrived on our doorstep. I chase him off every time he gets on our car or pickup...even gets squirted with the garden hose to no avail. He seems pretty loyal for a drop off. He stays around and likes it when we are outside doing things. I have no idea how I can keep him off the vehicles short of clipping his wings, if I can catch him! Any one have any ideas?
