At what age will a hen start seriously nesting?

Out of my 4 girls, I have one that nests constantly. She has found a nice place next to my feed room in a safe and hidden corner, and she has scooped out a nice hole for herself. She sits in the "nest" when the other Guineas are out doing "stuff". She really likes her little spot.

Is she nesting or just relaxing? I have a male, at what age would they likely be able to breed (I don't want babies), and do I need to keep these two separate? I have seen no indication of anything amiss:-) At what time of year do they quite trying to nest/lay?
